A session on 'Gandhian Ideologies' was organized on October 6, 2020 by JIMS Kalkaji. Dr. Ramesh Bhardwaj, Director, Gandhi Bhawan, University of Delhi addressed students on the significance of non-violence movement in these contemporary times with respect to the corporate world. Dr. Bhardwaj highlighted the disciplinary attitude of Mahatma Gandhi as the most requisite form of leadership trait for anyone who aspires to dream big and achieve bigger goals in life. vk

JIMS Kalkaji- E Week 2020
JIMS Kalkaji Entrepreneurship Cell organized Entrepreneurship Week from October 20-22, 2020. Various events such as Case Phalic, Stock Mock, Quizingo, Market King, Sell Me, Documentary, Business Plan and Webinar on Start up talk were organized in which students participated with great zeal and showcased their talents. More than 20 sponsors supported in the successful conduct of the event and more than 200 colleges across the nation participated in the event. The event inspired many young minds into igniting entrepreneurial mindsets.

Institution’s Innovation Council of JIMS Kalkaji organized Literacy Awareness Programme for its PGDM and PGDM (IB) students from 15-23 October, 2020. Keynote speakers included Sh. Ramesh Pokhriyal (Education Minister, GOI), Amit Khare (Secretary, Higher Education, and GOI), Sanjay Dhotre (Minister of State and Telecommunications, GOI), a bench of AICTE members. Significant information pertaining to patent application process and invention was shared along with insights on lateral thinking and copyright.

An Inter Campus Presentation Competition was organized by JIMS Kalkaji on the topic: ‘How Covid-19 has led to the disruptions for Technology led Business’ on October 19, 2020. Various significant aspects of Covid-19 on industries such as education, automobile, aviation, technology, etc. were discussed. JIMS Kalkaji was the winner of second Prize in both PG and UG category.

JIMS Kalkaji- Menstrual health and hygiene session on October 28, 2020
An awareness session was conducted by JIMS Kalkaji in which all associated topics related to menstruation were explained to girl students such as what is menstruation, calculation of the period cycle, physical problems faced by girls during their periods and ways to deal with it. Traditional myths and misconceptions related to menstruation were also discussed.

JIMS Kalkaji- Guest Lecture on Tableau and Data Science
A guest lecture was organized for the students of the Data Science Club of BBA, BCOM(H) and PGDM on 23rd Nov, 2020. The speaker of the session was Mr. Havish Madhvapathy, Founder Havish M Consulting. The guest lecture was an interactive one conducted for the Orientation of the YI Yuva Chapter of CII through online mode. The feedback of the session was very positive.

JIMS Kalkaji- Celebration of Constitution Day
Constitution is not only a legal document but a guide to live life. To commemorate this occasion, JIMS Kalkaji relived the moment of the drafting of Constitution. In this context, an online event was organized by NSS Club of JIMS Kalkaji regarding the need, history, key timelines, preamble, makers of constitution. A presentation was presented by the volunteers and all the key factors were discussed. It was an informative session for all as students and faculties came to know about various aspects of our Constitution.

JIMS Kalkaji- HR Analytics workshop
A six-day HR Analytics workshop from November 2-7, 2020 was conducted to provide an overview of HR analytics as well as several hands-on demonstrations. Participants learnt to conduct analyses using open-source software and how to critically examine and present insights that can be used to drive organizational change. Various topics related to HR Analytics were covered and a details discussion happened on the relevant topics.

JIMS Kalkaji- E- Faculty Development Program On ‘Leveraging Data Tools for Effective Research Paper Writing’
JIMS, Kalkaji organized a ten-day online Faculty Development Programme from 2nd November-12th November, 2020 on – ‘Leveraging Data Analysis Tools for Effective Research Paper Writing’. The Faculty Development Programme was successful in enabling the participants to understand the basics as well as the advanced concepts in conducting research and gain insights into the tools and techniques of writing effective research papers. The programme was conducted by eminent researchers and academicians from prestigious institutions like the IIT and IIM along with other leading B- Schools of India.

JIMS VK II- Workshop on ‘Stained Glass Painting’
Department of Interior Designing organised an online workshop for Interior design students on 10th October, 2020. Art and craft instructor, Ms Seema from Pidilite Industries Limited involved students in activities like stained glass painting . It was an enriching experience where students made various designs using Pidilite products on canvas used as decorative items in homes and offices.

Department of Information Technology and Software Development organized a webinar on Data Science on October 20, 2020. The webinar was delivered by Mr. Deepak Kumar, Associate Vice President (Data Science) at Karvy Insights. The guest speaker explained why data science is such a big deal. He also covered various skills leading to the career options in the IT vertical. He discussed various tools used for different phases of the data science life cycle and gave practical insights into the analytics.

2020 - a very challenging and an unprecedented year has passed with lot of uncertainties and the entire mankind has been put to unforeseen conditions due to COVID -19. All of us need to pay our best compliments to the COVID warriors and also our highly talented scientists in every part of the world who are working tirelessly to understand this novel virus and finding out solutions and treatment by developing an appropriate vaccine. It has been proved that human beings have tremendous will power, strong efforts and courage to fight such crises and jointly work as an excellent team to achieve success for fighting any such menace. There are encouraging signs at the end of 2020 in the world where a vaccine has been developed in some countries and have also been administered. Thus we are starting the New Year 2021 with some good news. There is a ray of hope of getting rid of Covid even when many new challenges of virus mutations are also being noticed. I take this opportunity of conveying my New Year greetings and best wishes to all the stakeholders in the JIMS family. All the faculty members, peers and the seniors form an extended family for all the students who can seek any guidance, support and help from them to move ahead in life as Professionals in the programmes they are pursuing. All JIMS Institutes have highly qualified faculty in their respective fields of expertise. As per our practice all our Institutes in 2021 will also be organizing many national and international conferences, seminars, workshops and corporate guest lectures but as of now they all will be Online. JIMS Vasant Kunj II- “Game of Survival Version 3.0”
Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, JIMS, VK II organized a “Game of Survival Version 3.0” on November 28th, 2020. The games were designed keeping in view the level of excitement and the sense of competition that the annual event evokes among students. The session started with the address of the Campus Director Dr (Prof) S K Dogra who asked the students to keep the spirit of adventure alive in both online and offline endeavours. Participants were divided into four teams titled - Hunters, Avengers, Titans and Ninjas and after a tough battle in three rounds, Team Hunters emerged as winners.

JIMS, VK-II organized an Inter Campus Presentation Competition on 19th October’20. The topic of the competition was “Covid-19 disruption has created a boom for technology driven businesses”. Participants from all the campuses quoted figures and compared the performance of one industry with that of another on the extent of profits reaped by businesses driven by technology. Amidst the ongoing pandemic, students were highly motivated to celebrate the occasion for the outgoing batch. A short video was made to relive the past three years. Amongst all the nostalgia, the class coordinators, Ms. Garima Malhotra and Dr. Sunny Gupta delivered words of appreciation for their respective classes. 1. Department of Media and Communication Studies, JIMS, Vasant Kunj organized a guest lecture on “Nuances of Script Writing” on October 9th, 2020. The guest speaker Mr. Shantanu Anam, Freelance Actor and Writer addressed the students about the film production and fundamental of script writing. Mr. Anam also shared his experiences of scripting and film making with students.
2. Department of Media and Communication Studies, JIMS, Vasant Kunj organized a guest lecture on “Aatam Nirbhar Bharat, -Vocal for local Make in India Make for world” on October 28th, 2020. The guest speaker MR Suresh Verma, Senior Journalist & Spokesperson addressed the students on various aspects of Aatam Nirbhar Bharat. Mr. Verma also guided the students about the opportunities to become an independent entrepreneur during this covid-19 period.
3. Department of Media and Communication Studies, JIMS, Vasant Kunj organized a guest lecture on “Entrepreneurship and innovation as Career Opportunity” on October 29th, 2020. The guest speaker Ms. Mansee Saxena, Founder, The Creative Genie addressed the students on entrepreneurship opportunities in current scenario. Ms. Saxena also shared own experiences of becoming an entrepreneurship and said that successful entrepreneurs have used innovation and creativity to set them apart from the market competition.
4. Department of BBA, JIMS, Vasant Kunj organized a guest lecture on “Go with your own talent” on 19th November, 2020. The guest speaker was Mr. Luk Dewulf, TedX Speaker, Author (Belgium). The guest speaker emphasised about why to go with your own talent. He explained how people exaggerate their talent, and how they can develop skills to use their talent more effectively. He also explained how to handle one’s weakness and move ahead with confidence.

Department of Media and Communication Studies, JIMS, Vasant Kunj organized a guest lecture on “Identifying Intellectual Properties component at the early stage of Innovation” on November 5th, 2020. The guest speaker Mr. Prof. T C James, President, NIPO addressed the students on how to save the individual intellectual properties for their database in the time of self-reliant India in the Corona era. Mr. James also told the students about the different methods of maintaining intellectual things.
6. Department of Media and Communication Studies, JIMS, Vasant Kunj organized a guest lecture on “Public Relations as a Career Opportunity” on November 21st, 2020. The guest speaker Ms. Ankita Sharma, Account Executive, AVON Media addressed the students about the functioning of Public Relations Industry and the differences between PR, Advertising and Corporate Communication. She also told them about the opportunities in PR industry.
7. Department of Media and Communication Studies, JIMS, Vasant Kunj organized a guest lecture on “Anchoring” on November 21st, 2020. The guest speaker Ms. Samriti Rastogi, Senior Anchor, Rajyasabha TV addressed the students about basics of Journalism industry. She also guided the students about the fundamental qualities of an anchor of a news channel.

1. Jagannath Institute of Education, JEMTEC, Greater Noida organized a guest lecture on “Dimensions and Prospects of National Education Policy 2020” on November 23rd, 2020. The guest speaker Prof JK Joshi, Advisor NCTE, and Former Director Uttrakhand Open University addressed the students about the highly integrated and multidisciplinary nature of National Education Policy 2020. He emphasized that the main focus of this policy is on vocational education and its gives opportunity to students to choose the subjects or areas they wish to learn further in Higher Education.

1. Department of Hotel Management, JIMS, VK II organized a guest lecture on “Career in the Hotel Industry at OYO Hotels Worldwide” on November 3rd, 2020. The guest speaker Mr. Rajat Panwar (Alumni, Batch 2013-16), Area Business Manager, OYO Rooms addressed the students about the various management training programs. Mr. Panwar also guided the students on how to gear up for careers in various departments and discussed in detail the hierarchy at the OYO Hotels Worldwide
2. Department of Management, JIMS, VK II organized a guest lecture on “Retail Analytics & Data Science” on November 4th, 2020. The guest speaker Mr. Sachin Mann, Data Scientist, ZS Associate addressed the students about the concepts of retail analytics, Python, Data Visualization, Panda, Numpy, Scipy & PyCharm making. Mr. Mann also explained the students how today decisions are driven by technology and the logic that emerges from the assimilated data.
3. Department of Interior Design, JIMS, VK II organized a guest lecture on “Green Interiors” on November 6th, 2020. The guest speaker Mr. Sonu Prakash, Architect addressed the students about the opportunity to understand sustainable interiors and think innovatively on how to achieve a balance between aesthetics and sustainability.
4. Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, JIMS, VK II organized a guest lecture on “How to produce a TV Commercial” on November 17th, 2020. The guest speaker Ms. Moumita Pal (Alumni, Batch 2006-09), Creative Director, FCB Ulka addressed the students about the processes involved in producing a television commercial and outlined the challenges involved in telling a brand story in 30 seconds. Ms. Pal also shared the live projects in which she has been associated with including the campaigns and her team developed for Coca-Cola, Bausch and Lomb, Hero, and Vistara.
5. Department of Interior Design, JIMS, VK II organized a workshop on “3D Design Software” on November 19th, 2020. The guest speaker Ms. Bhawana Singh, Principal Designer, Harmony Interiors addressed the students about the changing trends of designing industry. During this workshop, students learned about the practical approaches of 3D design software.
6. Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, JIMS, VK II organized a guest lecture on “Reporting for Television” on November 19th, 2020. The guest speaker Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Channel Head, Surya Samachar addressed the students about the newsgathering and the filtering process at the assignment desk of television channels. He also explained about the basic fundamentals of reporting for television and the role of television journalist
7. Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, JIMS, VK II organized a guest lecture on “Fact Checking- Identifying Fake News” on November 26th, 2020. The guest speaker Ms. Pallavi Mishra, Quality Check Manager (Editorial), Jagran New Media addressed the students about the concept of misinformation and disinformation and the problems in democratic systems. JIMS, VK II bid farewell to the passing out Batch of 2017-2020 through a virtual event on November 28th, 2020. The event commenced with the Director’s address and was followed by the title presentation. The event was laden with many emotional moments as the passing out students acknowledged the contribution of the teachers and their peers and recalled the most memorable moments of their campus life.

Department of Information Technology and Software Development, JIMS, VK II organized a workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and its impact on Career & Industries” on November 19th, 2020. The guest speaker Mr. Vishal Singhal, Co-Founder, AI Evangelist-Cell Strat addressed the students about the differences between Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning. Mr. Singhal also discussed the importance and impact of business requirements in technology projects and how they contribute to the overall success of an enterprise.
