Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) and IQAC organized an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Quiz Competition on November 7, 2024 to enhance participants’ knowledge of IPR and foster innovation. The event successfully promoted awareness of IPR and encouraged a competitive spirit among students. Participants gained a deeper understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), including the importance of protecting innovations and fuelling creativity for a brighter future.

|
A highly insightful session was delivered by Mr. Yatin Kapur on 8th November 2024. Mr Yatin is an accomplished alumnus of JIMS VK and an experienced Software Engineer specializing in front-end development for e-commerce platforms using Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC/Demandware) and Angular. With a strong foundation in Salesforce platform development, JavaScript, and UI design, Yatin guided students on how to kickstart their careers in Salesforce. His session included valuable insights on obtaining relevant certifications, understanding DevOps and exploring internships. Yatin's expertise and practical advice equipped students with the knowledge to embark on successful careers in Salesforce and digital commerce.

On 14th November 2024, Jagannath International Management School (JIMS), Vasant Kunj hosted TEDx JIMS Vasant Kunj Women event focusing on the theme "Redefining Success: Embracing Diverse Paths to Fulfilment." The event featured five esteemed speakers from diverse fields who shared their insights, perspectives and experiences. The CSE department HashTag Technical Society's event, "Pixel Perfection" was held on 13th Nov, 2024. It aimed at testing participants' skills in web design and responsiveness. The event was designed for budding web developers to demonstrate their creative and technical abilities in transforming basic HTML structures into visually appealing and responsive websites. The Key outcomes of the event were: Creativity and Aesthetics, Responsiveness, User Experience (UX), Code Structure and Cleanliness. Each participant presented their styled webpage in front of judges and an audience. This allowed everyone to showcase their hard work and receive constructive feedback.

The department of CSE organized a “Psychological Counseling” on 07th Nov 2024 by Mr. Shriya with years of experience in counseling psychology. The primary objective of this counseling session was to provide a safe and supportive space for college students to address their mental health concerns and seek professional guidance. The session aimed to promote emotional well-being, stress management and overall mental health. The counseling session was positively received by participants who appreciated the therapist's empathetic approach and ability to create a safe and non-judgmental space.

JIMS Greater Noida: Carnival at Boys Observation Home
|
The Legal Aid Cell from the Department of Law organized a visit to the Government Boys Observation Home in Phase 2, Greater Noida. This observation center provides a rehabilitative environment for minors who have either committed an offence or are under trial. The primary aim of the visit was to foster positive development, skill-building and a shift away from any criminal mindset among these young individuals. The goal was to provide them with guidance that could inspire positive changes in their lives and help reintegrate them into society as responsible individuals. The presence of esteemed guests, including Mr. Avnish Saxena, District & Sessions Judge and Secretary DLSA Mrs. Richa Upadhyay reinforced the importance of rehabilitation for these young individuals.

JIMS Greater Noida: 4th Client Counseling Competition
|
The 4th Client Counseling Competition was organised by the Debate and Discussion Society for the 3rd to 7th semesters with the objective of providing a platform for law students to enhance their client communication and problem-solving abilities. The competition provided a platform in showcasing the legal acumen, interpersonal skills and ethical considerations of participants in handling real-life client scenarios. The competition was held in association with the esteemed tier-1 law firm of India, HSA Advocates. Mr. Amaresh Kumar Singh, the Partner at HSA for Real Estate and Disputes was invited as the Chief Guest. Ms. Varsha Aggarwal, Mr. Ashutosh Jadhav, Associates at HAS Advocates were invited to judge the team for semi-final rounds, while Mr. Hitaksh Puri, Senior Associate at the firm was invited to judge the final round. A total of 9 teams participated in the event, with 4 reaching to semi-finals and 2 qualifying for the finals. The problems were based on Indian Contract Acts, 1872 and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

JIMS Greater Noida: 3rd Intra Bail-Argumentation Competition
|
The department of Law organized the 3rd Intra Bail Argumentation Competition 2024. Prof. Dr. Pallavi Gupta, Head Department of Law conducted the session along with Mr. Gaurab, Ms. Ginny, Ms. Radha, Mr. Mudit Rohilla, the Assistant Professors of the Law department. The day started with the Saraswati Vandana, after which the draw of lots took place and the teams were given wither respective sides to argue for the Qualifying-round. There were total 2 Court rooms on the first floor.

The purpose of this lecture was to provide students with deeper insights into the complexities and nuances of contract law, focusing on the often-confusing categories of contracts. The speaker addressed a variety of questions posed by students, clarifying complex topics and offering practical insights into the applications of contract law. The lecture was a notable success, enriching students' understanding of contract law and shedding light on intricate aspects of e-contracts.

The Department of Management Studies organized an External Mentoring Session on “Business Plan Execution-A Case Driven Approach to Practical Business Planning” on 14th Nov. 2024. Mr. Lakshay Pahwa, the resource person shared his expert views on the said topic along with discussing a case related to the topic making the session knowledgeable and interactive. The expert explained that the Business plan execution is crucial to the success of any organization. It goes beyond merely drafting a plan; it involves translating strategic intentions into practical, actionable steps. Towards the end, Dr. Reema Agarwal, Assistant Professor, BBA, delivered the vote of thanks and extended a token of appreciation in the form of a memento to Mr. Lakshay Pahwa.

My warmest wishes for happiness, peace, joy and fulfillment in 2025.
A new year is always a time of starting a new chapter & era. The people of the world have faced and are still facing many bad & unforeseen experiences from the previous 2-3 years. But we should not lose the hope. Let’s strongly expect and wish that 2025 will bring many good things in our lives.
Every year brings its own share of ups and downs and we learn from our mistakes and try not to repeat the same. Our students stand testimonial to our efforts and achievements. Our highly experienced and skilled faculties are our biggest strength. We have achieved quite a few landmarks till now and we have set new targets and goals for 2025.
We envisage a great future for JIMS which will be possible only with your contribution, zeal, commitment, dedication which has been with us all these years.

The workshop titled ‘Mastering Data Analytics using IBM Cognos with Innovative Approaches’ was held on November 30, 2024. Dr. Neetu Kamra, an IBM certified professional in Analytics and AI was the resource person. This event aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in using IBM Cognos, one of the leading business intelligence and analytics tools. On October 14 2024, BBA Department hosted a guest lecture for the students of semester 1
& 5 on the topic ‘Healthy Mind and Self-Awareness.’ The speaker for the session was Mr. Chinmay Mandavgane- a Media professional and Psychologist by profession. Emphasizing the significance of self-awareness, he said that we must know our strengths, weaknesses, thoughts and triggers in order to respond correctly to any given situation. He asserted that an exploration of inner self was the best way to making decisions, forming opinions and avoiding limited thinking.

JIMS VK-II: Industry visit to Gurudev Enterprises
|
JIMS VK-II organized an industry visit on 28th November2024 to the Gurudev Enterprises a Tiles company, situated in Sector 4 Noida. 85 students accompanied by the faculty members visited the industry. The students received a great deal of knowledge from them on how the polishing of tiles and coloring of tiles are done. The students were educated by the technical team about the different kinds of designs made on the surface of raw glaze tiles and how the raw tiles' rough surface is converted into smoother ones. During the visit, students continuously asked questions and were guided by a Production officer.

The students of Interior Design course were taken to Jaypee Vasant Continental Hotel on 20th November 2024, which is one of the finest examples of Hotel suite. The students were able to appreciate how to utilize space optimally and create an ambience. The third semester students have to design the interior of a hotel suite and so to give them a firsthand exposure, the visit was arranged.

Dr. Saniya Chawla opened the event, emphasizing the importance of aligning academic efforts with industry demands. She also highlighted the successful collaboration between JIMS and Grant Thornton Bharat, where 60 students have secured placements, showcasing the impact of hands-on industry exposure on student success. The Finance Club organized FinFusion, a multi-round event aimed at enhancing students’ financial knowledge and critical thinking skills. The Delhi Yuva Conclave (DYC) 2024, held on October 5th, 2024 at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, was a dynamic event designed to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs themed on “AI for Efficiency, Upskilling, and Entrepreneurship. ”Mr. Venkatesh Maheshwari, Founder of Gyoko, shared his incredible journey of climbing Mount Everest while maintaining a corporate career. Industry experts like Mr Rahul Gupta, Mr Tushar Aggarwal, Mr Anuj Singhal and Mr Rishi Saharia showcased how AI is revolutionizing sectors like logistics, metals, and cyber-security. Teams from five colleges competed to present AI-driven solutions across marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain.
