The 16th National Film and Photography Festival, ‘Prism’ organized on 15th of December 2020 by JIMS, VK witnessed a fresh format owing to the pandemic. The festival received entries from across the country and eminent speakers were present to share their vast knowledge of film. Prism has been an opportunity for mass communication students from all over the country to showcase their talent and compete in the areas of film and photography. This year saw more than 90 entries from different institutions. Prism 2020, was organized in collaboration with Sputnik News Agency and Radio. Dr. Daljeet Sachdeva, Deputy Director of IGNOU in his address appreciated JIMS for organizing the film festival this year despite the challenges of the pandemic. He reiterated the importance of good cinema. Mr. Vijay Jodha (Guest of Honor) did a short workshop, which was arranged by JIMS Vasant Kunj for the students on the topic “Digital Film Making Techniques in Post-Covid-19 Times”. He elaborated all the techniques through which students can move forward in the film industry especially in the initial stages of their career. Mr. Abhishek Kumar, Director of Footplane Social; and an eminent photographer gave a brief introduction about photography and explained the advantage of camera phones. He also interacted with the students and gave them advice on photojournalism.
