Research Methodology using R and SPSS

Faculty Development Program on Research Methodology using R and SPSS was organized by JIMS, Vasant Kunj from 11th July 2022 to 20th July, 2022 at JIMS Vasant Kunj for the faculty members of the Department of Management. The resource person for Day 1 was Dr. Himani Gupta who introduced the “R” software to the faculty members. She gave a detailed overview of the free software “R” and “Word Cloud”. The resource person for Day 2 was Dr. Anu Bhardwaj who introduced SPSS software to the participants of the program. A hand on experience of the software was given with greater emphasis on Descriptive Statistics (mean, median, mode, skewness, kurtosis, normality test). The topics covered for Day 3 were Correlation and Regression elaborated by the resource person Dr. Ashneet Kaur for the faculty members. Explicit experience of the software were given for the most commonly applied technique in research. Day 4 was carried forward again by Dr. Ashneet Kaur to introduce the statistical technique, Multiple linear regression (MLR) helpful in estimating the linear relationship between the explanatory (independent) variables and response (dependent) variables. The fifth day began with the resource person, Dr Seema Wadhawan who explained the concept of reliability and validity as well as the theoretical and practical application of Cronbach Alpha Mean to the faculty members. The sixth and the seventh day of the session was headed by the resource person Dr. Richa Arora who gave experiential learning of independent and paired T-test including interpretation of results with the help of illustrations to the faculty members. On the next day, she elaborated one way ANOVA also providing first-hand experience of the same. The resource person for the eighth and the last day was Dr. Shruti Bhuttani who briefed the members about the referencing technique using the Mendeley software. The intellectually stimulating session was enriching and proved to be helpful in improving analytical skills of the faculty.
