Department of Media and Communication Studies organised a guest lecture on the topic “Emerging Trend in TV News Reporting” on 2nd September, 2025. The guest speaker was Mr. Piyush Mishra, Senior Special Correspondent, India Today News Channel. Mr. Piyush Mishra discussed his journey as a journalist in various prestigious organisations like ANI, Republic and Times Now. In his current role as a Senior Special Correspondent, he shared his experiences in conducting numerous political interviews, elections, Parliament reporting among others. He emphasised on the importance of ethical reporting where accuracy and authenticity are the key. He also discussed about the various aspects of journalism and also gave meaningful insights on the career opportunities in TV industry and the new age journalism. He guided students on the emerging trends of news reporting which goes beyond television. At the end of the guest lecture, a Q&A session helped address the participant queries.
