About Institute

Established in 2003, Jagannath International Management School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, is one of the leading colleges of GGS Indraprastha University, New Delhi. The School enjoys the sole distinction of being the first college in the NCT of Delhi to have gone for accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bengaluru, in 2010. The School has the privilege of having earned A+ Grade from NAAC, Bengaluru, in November 2022, catapulting it among the top five percent of higher educational institutions in the country.

The Institute has also been placed in the 150 – 300 band of HEIs in the NIRF Innovation Ranking 2022, making it one among the only four higher educational institutions in the NCT of Delhi to have been ranked for Innovation. It has also been awarded the highest grade, A, by the Joint Assessment Committee of the University and the Govt. of NCT of Delhi for over a decade. The State Fee Regulatory Committee of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi too has awarded it the highest grade, A+, for its academic quality systems.

Apart from these governmental recognitions and accreditations, the institute has also fared exceedingly well in the estimation of non-governmental Third-Party assessing agencies. The recent awards and achievements of the institute are as below:

Facilities/ Physical Infrastructure

The School has a state of the art physical infrastructure that meets the diverse needs of its students and the curricular needs of the three undergraduate degree programs of study taught here: Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Arts (Journalism and Mass Communication) (BA (JMC).

Computer Labs

The School has four Computer Labs. Each of these Labs has 30 branded computer systems, with the latest configuration and all necessary software applications.

We have many types of software for the teaching of Mass Communication such as Adobe CS4 Master Collection with Indesign and Photoshop, Quark Express, PageMaker, Flash, Corel Draw, Corel Painter. The Internet content security at JIMS is provided by latest Firewall Watch Guard which has policies implemented for various website and download filtering. The entire network of JIMS is further protected by Trend Micro Antivirus a full featured and well-equipped program that is geared towards keeping network free of Viruses and spy wares.

The department has fully functioning labs covering: - RDBMS Computer Organization Networking Multi-Media Hardware Software Engineering LINUX - RHEL 5.0 .NET Oracle 11g Adobe Master Collection Quark Express MSDN iMac with FCP The Institute has over 180 Pentium (P-IV 1.9/2.4/3.0/Core 2 Duo/Dual Core Processor) PC desktop computers and Notepad for Faculty members, which are fully networked, Wi-Fi enabled campus and have the latest software as prescribed by GGSIPU. The computer labs are air-conditioned, with adequate UPS backup, and have a 24 hours 'Internet Lease Line' facility through a 2 Mbps Internet connection. Conference Hall

Community Radio

JIMS Vasant Kunj Community Radio broadcasts on 90.4 MHz frequency. It was commissioned in 2005 and ever since has earned a name for its services to the community by being declared as one of the 24 Lead Radio Stations in the country. The Community Radio has two 50-watt transmitters and a Radio Antenna for broadcasting programmes. IT is equipped with audio recording and editing instrument panel along with necessary sound editing software.

Mass Comm. Audio Visual Studio cum PCR

The Audio-Visual Studio is equipped with a 3-camera set up supported by cool lights and a teleprompter for recording live shows, Panel discussions, Interviews, Group discussions and news based programmes. The PCR is equipped with online editing software along with talk back system.

Cafeteria

The college cafeteria plays an important role in promoting and creating a culture of healthy eating. It caters to the students’ taste-buds and is a great place to unwind in between the hectic lecture-lab schedules. The cafeteria provides good quality and hygienic food at reasonable prices. There are multi cuisine varieties of food and beverages available for the students.

Smart Classrooms

All the classrooms are equipped with LCD projectors and computer systems. All classrooms are well furnished and fully air-conditioned.

Conference Hall

The conference hall is well equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual and presentation tools to facilitate smooth presentations. The air-conditioned Conference Hall has a seating capacity for 30 persons.
